Now that I have access to the board and am killing some time before the Super Bowl, I thought I would give an update on where things stand with youth rugby.

First, it looks like we have 4 fairly solid clubs so far for the spring; North Bend (Mers' club), an East Side Nomads club based near Seven Hills school and including kids from Madeira and Indian Hill (led by Fred Woodhouse and Casey Schneiber of the Hounds), Walnut Hills (Bill "Jamal" Griffes and Ferd Schneider), and Oak Hills (Rob Overbeck, Tony Jenkins, and myself). There are two other strong areas with much interest but no one to coach so far. They are Middletown and Union, KY.

What we are looking for is more people to help coach at any of the clubs, or willing to pick up the slack in the other two locations. You would not have to be at every practice and match; our goal is to have 4-5 coaches at each club to help cover any work or family committments. Matches will probably be played on Fridays or Sundays, so it should not interfere with your regular club matches.

Anyone who can help coach any of the clubs can contact me at qcrugby@yahoo.com and I'll fill you in on the details. There is a coaches meeting at Haps this Wednesday at 7:30 which you may also attend.

I'll post more information on the board as I receive it.
