I guess we will need to find a new Tuesday night hangout. I think we should still go to Hap's on Thursdays (don't forget that it's next to Bangkok Bistro!!).
If your choice doesn't appear here, just put it in a reply.
If we choose Murphy's, everyone be sure to bring an ID. Esp if you look at all young. I've not been able to get in a number of times!

So, regardless, we won't have to cater to more than 9 people anyway, right?

OK, to nip this in the bud, apparently, parking sucks in Clifton. Not really apparently, it just did. So next Tuesday we'll head downtown to Head First and try that. It can't be any worse. Of course, there is the Nascar bar located on Central in the Travelodge. Hmmmm.......NOT!!!
I can't believe that parking was bad at Murph's on a Tuesday night. Of course that Nascar bar is going to suck because no bar can compete with The Relic, the barometer of kick-ass Nascar bars.

Or the Rustic. It's OK hookie, we all know that memories fade with age.

There's also Uncle Woody's, but the parking issue still applies. BTW, leave it to Pauly to open a forum poll and discussion and then cut of all dicussion with his decision after two posts. ;)
Relic, rustic, archaic. Whatever! That's right, Mike Brown, you can vote all you want, but everyone knows who's got the final say in this club. Democracy, shremocracy.

Ahhh, I feel bad now. Let's revert to the normal decision process where we discuss it for two months and then decide nothing anyway!!! : )
(I don't normally do those silly emoticons, but someone might think I was being serious, when I was only being mostly serious)

It's not so much the dictatorial bent that I mind so much as the illusory display of democratic process. Pauly's kind of the Pervez Musharraf of the Kelts.

I dont think we should be so quick to dismiss Murphy's - I know the parking situation left a bad taste in the mouths of some, but I used to frequent the place and parking usually isnt that bad - I think that buying an ad in the program should give them at least one more shot.

Parking for Murphy's sucks the royal one, but $3.25 for a pint of Black does help even the score.
See what I'm saying, J-sweet & Lo. Just park on Warner and walk a block or 2, you lazy bastards. It used to be $6 for a pitcher of the good stuff. I don't mean back when I was born, I'm talking 3 or 4 years ago. Paulay, you can suck it. (In advance)

A block or 2?! Has you brain soda gone flat? I was happy being within the defined Clifton boudaries.
I hope you didn't park on McMicken and walk up the hill, at night. That's where angels, and probably even the Scott, fear to tread.

Pervez Musharraf..., wasn't he the Flyhalf for Argentina?
You're thinking of Pervy Mersharraf.

so is this gonna be the place we go to from now on after practice? or until paully get tried of it and says back to haps. personally i think haps puts up with us and these other bars like heads first welcome us and treat us real good, like give us free beer and pizza, then as soon as fidel gets tired of the spot we go and never come back. just having a bad day!!! sorry but i could care less if i have to drive across town to drink i just dont like haps.

News Flash!!!!
Fidel Cerveca ready to retire!!! Seeks worthy replacement!!!
Requirements:
1. (easy one) like beer.....a lot
2. plan all non-official social activities - all year
3. please 5-100 people all at the same time
Submit qualifications and a catchy nickname here and we'll leave the decision up to the entire Club. Results should follow within one year.
For now, suck it.
OK, just kidding - here's the deal. We go to Hap's and support them because they are a main sponsor (money and lots of free beer) and quite frankly, if you can find another place that lets us do what we do there, gives us what they do and DOESN'T have a dirt floor, let someone know.
Murphy's is close to the practice field and have purchased an ad in the program, so we owe them some patronage. Also, just last night the owner approached us about possibly becoming more of a sponsor (read:money).
Yes, many bars have welcomed us and treated us well, but they become less practical based on the nomadic nature of the Club (Head First excepted). Also, free beer and the like on a practice night is nice, money for the Club is better.
I would encourage and enjoy new and interesting places and things to do, but we are not going to forsake those who take care of us.
PS - Please reference above DEMOCRATIC poll:
Christy's - 2
Haps - 3
Head First - 6
Murphy's - 7
Don't forget, if you stick around long enough there are $1 hot dogs and $1.25 drafts! BEAT THAT!

Hello? Did no one else remember the large tub of peanuts and popcorn? And it was free I tells ya! FREE!

what about the time he poured us shots of jaeger, and it was free too!!! and at least the bar tender chick was under 60, and had a good ass!!! with the ability to take credit cards., so how was murphys???
Thanks, Vez. You just alluded to 2 more advantages of going to Hap's:
1. The fact that Hildie will have nothing to do with us, besides platonic beer fetching, alleviates the temptation of barmaid infidelity.
2. Since Hap's doesn't take credit cards, the average bar tab can be half of what it would have been if we had the evil convenience of a credit card. Very few drag there tired asses across the street to the ATM for more pint money.
Epilogue:
Don't dis the Hap's, Vez. They've been good to us. Plus, it's the only constant that Fidel Rettigro will allow.
